If you are a runner, than you know what I am talking about when I say that running is like zen. Running puts me into a mode where nothing can be thought about except running. When I run, it is like everything is forgotten if I want it to be. When I run, I can also think quietly to myself. I can think of how nice it is to be able to think about things without being bothered by interruptions. Not only is running good for your body, but it is good for your mind. It makes me have clear thoughts. It helps me to have time to myself and it puts me in a good mood when I did not before. It gives me energy when I did not have any. If I want to sing, I can do that in my head or with music playing. I can talk on the phone, listen to music or talk to others. Sometimes I talk to other people that I am running with if I want to. It is all up to me. If I don't feel like talking, I don't have to. If I feel like running for one hour, I will, if I feel like only running for 20 minutes, than I will do that too. I enjoy running and the best kind of running is the kind done outside. This is because you get to look and feel the scenery of the fresh air. You can see the birds singing and the sun coming up in the morning. You can watch the dew dry up on the grass and the day beginning. If you run at night, then you get to watch the sun go down for the day. You can see people going home at night and eating dinner. Running is fun, try it sometime. If you can't run, then you can enjoy the same privileges of running by walking. Walking will give you the same options I just described about above. Walking is easier on the knees and safer on the body than running. Walking gives the body its daily need of exercise. Anyone can do it if physically capable too. It is fun for the whole family.
