The Nintendo DS is a medium sized, handheld game device that you can play with while you travel. The Nintendo DS is somewhat similar to the older Game Boy consoles. It provides speaker sound and may support wireless activity to interact with other DS players within a ten to thirty foot range. You can play Game Boy Advance games on the Nintendo DS along with games that are developed for the DS exclusively.
Nintendo's production of the DS is as similar to the Game Boy, their portable device that was first created more than ten years ago. The Nintendo DS has upgraded from the Game Boy with dual screens, better visuals, and a touch screen. The DS's games go beyond a whole different world of play by implementing usage of the touch screen to perform actions in-game. The Nintendo DS's battery lasts for up to ten hours of play.
The DS has been made in two different models thus far. The original DS was much bigger than the Game Boy Advance and only came in gray. The DS Lite is a thinner model that has a different placement for the stylus and comes in several different colors. Another model is slated to come out next year.
Although times have been tough in regards to the economy, the Nintendo DS's sales still holds strong along with Nintendo's other current generation console. The Nintendo DS is a great choice for a gift, but it's quite possible that everyone you know already has one!
